How to Verify Your Bank Account with Microdeposits

Banks not listed on M1's site can be connected to your M1 account through Microdeposits. Microdeposits are easy and take just an extra day or two to show up in your bank account. You will need to have your bank routing and account number to connect your bank through microdeposits.

Step 1: Go to "Funding" in the Menu and click on "Connect Bank".

Step 2: Search for your banking institution in the search bar and if your bank is not listed, you will need to connect your bank through microdeposits.

Step 3: Enter in your Banking Institution Name, Type of Account (Savings, Checking), Routing Number (typically a nine digit code listed first on the bottom of checks) and Account Number (listed second on bottom of checks) and click submit.

Step 4: Wait 1-2 business days, and log into your bank account to see 2 small deposits that will show up in your bank account under MOFI or M1MOFI. (Please note that microdeposits expire after 3 days from the time they show up in your bank account)

Step 5: Once you have the amounts of these small deposits, log into your M1 account and go back to "Funding" tab.  Click on "Verify Microdeposits" or "Enter Microdeposits" and enter in the value of the 2 small amounts that showed up in your bank account (sometimes you will need to reverse the order)

Once Step 5 is complete, you have connected your bank and you can start investing in your M1 account.
