Is your gas station transaction higher than expected?

Example of Temporary Charge
Many gas stations have a pre-authorization hold to protect against theft. A temporary charge will be assessed to your account for a maximum of 24 hours to ensure funds available as allowed by federal law. The settled transaction amount will be the amount actually owed and is the only amount permanently debited from your account. There is no need to dispute the temporary hold transaction as it will be removed within 24 hours and replaced by the settled transaction amount.
